BEST WATERFALLS IN BALI

What to do in Bali beside of Beach?

If you are someone who like nature, check it out some of waterfall you must visit in Bali :

1. SEKUMPUL WATERFALL

Located in northern of Bali, gonna takes around 2,5hr drives from Seminyak or Kuta. We can say this is the most scenic nature waterfall in Bali. 100m heigh of waterfall will make you feel amazed.

Before reach the main Sekumpul Waterfall, we will pass through the Hidden waterfall which we can swim, this place is covered with rocks and plants which make the ambience feel so cool.

Passing through the small river, you will me the main great Sekumupul Waterfall. This waterfall is not like other waterfall , Sekumpul is super big, you will realize how small you are in front of the Sekumpul Waterfall. The tract is not hard, but lot of steep rocks and moss make the path quite slippery, be carefull of it.

And it is quite hard to get a good picture with your lense or phone, the splash of the water is not just a joke, it likes a rain. Be carefull and find a spot to get a good picture. You can ask your guide to help you take a picture.

How to get there?

From Singaraja/Lovina : approx 30m (the best choices, but it means you need to stay in Lovina/Singaraja area)

From Seminyak/Kuta : approx 2.5hr-3hr

From Ubud centre : approx 2hr

How much the entrance ticket?

There will be 3 options :

  • View only : IDR 20.000 (only can photo from above, can not go down to the main waterfall)
  • Medium Trekking : IDR 125.000 (the best option) this includes a guide, donation for local village, Hidden Waterfall and Sekumpul Waterfall entrance.
  • Long Trekking : IDR 200.000 , this includes a guide, donation for local village, Hidden Waterfall, Sekumpul Waterfall, Fiji Waterfall

Extra Info : for me personally, medium trekking is enough, but for someone who likes challenge and would like to see Fiji Waterfall, Long Trekking will be the good one. I can say the track is an easy track, I wear sandals at the time, besides of the slippery from the moss, all is fine with sandals, but for better safety you may wear shoes (but prepare to get soaked)

2. GITGIT WATERFALL

Located in northern Bali, this waterfall is famous among the local. The main reason is because Bali as a tourist place, lot of visitor prefer to enjoy southern Bali as because tourist attraction in southern part of Bali have complete facilities and the infrastructure. But it doesn’t mean northern part of Bali is left behind. It is just more famous among the local.

The track to reach this waterfall is not that hard, but the entrance way is coming from the main street and need to pass some of the local people’s house. You may park your vehicle in the parking area and walk to the entrance.

I can say this waterfall is an easy track. It takes only 10-15minutes to reach the main waterfall from the entrance ticket.

Once you reach the waterfall, feel free to enjoy this beauty of nature with 48m heigh. You will feel the water splash to your body, feel it with every part of your body, feel relax, feel rejuvenate.

Entrace ticket is only for IDR 20.000

3. KROYA WATERFALL

As far as I go, this waterfall is the most fun among the other waterfall. Located in northern part of Bali, for someone who likes to have fun, this is the best option to go. You can get 3 in 1 waterfall in one area.

You can do the slide from the waterfall, you can jump straight from the 5m, 10, 15m heigh straight to the water. To enter this waterfall we will be charged for certain amount which include life vest, guide and water bottle. So it is safe for us to jump even from 15m heigh rocks. OMG!

For someone who afraid of the heigh, feel free not to jump, you can swim and enjoy the waterfall below.

My guide was a little boy who super brave to jump over and over. I feel so bad if I dont to the jump as well, so I did it all , the 5m , 10m and 15m. OMG!

4. SUMAMPAN WATERFALL

One of hidden gem you must visit while in Bali, even though this waterfall is not big as others, but it worth to go. Sumampan is not the a “touristy” place, so that you can really enjoy the view and the nature. The way to reach the waterfall is an easy track, only 5 minutes walk from the entrance and you’ll be there.

Not like others waterfall, you need to cross the river to reach the main waterfall. No need to afraid, it is only 1-1,5m deep and there is a rope which u can hold to across the river. Sometimes the water flow might be quite challenging so please stay safe and be carefull.

Once you cross the river, feel free to enjoy the magnificent view of the waterfall, feeling chill, relax, fresh and close to the nature.

From Ubud centre : approx 30min

How much the entrance ticket?

Actually there is no exact amount of the entrance ticket, but due to Covid-19, Bali got a high impact in tourism industries. To support local citizen and authority, you will be charged for IDR 10.000 to enter this waterfall. 

5. SUWAT WATERFALL

Hidden gem in Gianyar, feel blessed to be able to explore the beauty nature of Bali. Suwat Waterfall is a kinda new waterfall that open for the public. Before, only local people or explorer might know the existence of Suwat Waterfall, but in end of 2019 it is open to public and attract lot of tourist to come.

This waterfall has 15m heigh, and 7m deep in the middle. But it might be different depend on the season, it might be deeper or it might be shallow.

We can take a picture in a raft or you even can jump from the rock above straight to the water. The rock is around 4m height directly below the waterfall. It is amazing to have an experience like this.

From Ubud centre : approx 35min

How much the entrance ticket?

Entrace ticket is only for IDR 10.000

Extra info : They do have a restroom and a place where u can wash yourself afterward.
